Just another Manic Monday...

Well- it's not really been too manic but I like that song so I thought it would be a good title. Today was the first day of school in these here parts. But why should I care you ask? Well that means my nephew Andre is gone all day as well as Bryan. Don't get me wrong, I love my nephews to death but I also love me some peace and quiet and less interference with my Baily Bug.

And before I get going I'm going to put another plug in and beg for some comments. Even if I don't know you leave me a comment and your blog address and I will gladly return the favor. I'm really interested in meeting and keeping in touch with some new blogging buddies! Ok sorry... enough of that!

I also started baby-sitting little Mya again. She's almost one. I watched for a while a couple months ago. She's still the same little girl... she hasn't grown much except for her hair. The girl has more hair on a baby than I've ever seen- it's so cute! She was hesitant when her mom dropped her off but after a nice, long nap she was good. Baily was so cute about it. When she woke up Mya was still asleep. Baily noticed her diaper bag and her walked and jumped right in her walker and took it for a ride. She's such a dork sometimes. After Mya woke up and I brought her out Baily said all excitedly and perfectly clear "Mya! How have you been?" It was so precious. I was cracking up. Besides Mya having a tantrum about eating most of the day went pretty smoothly... Baily's been really patient and loving with her. I just hope she's that way with Bubba!

Ok so I've seen this on a lot of other blogs and I liked it so I'm gonna start doing it. And by it I mean posting my dinner menus on my blog so hopefully I'll stick to it better and therefore stick to our budget better by not eating out. I do well for about the first half of the week then sort of fizzle out. So this is for the next two weeks. I tried to organize it so we get a pretty good variety without having the same things over and over again. It's been helpful to actually get some ideas and recipes from my many cookbooks as well. Some of my guide lines are to do more of a homey type meal with dessert on Mondays for Family Home Evening, out to eat only on date nights, sandwich meals on Thursdays since we're gonna have football and softball games coming up on those nights, soups or stews on Saturdays since it will be easy to do long cooking meals when Robert's home and of course breakfast dinners for our traditional Sunday meal. Let me hear some feedback and ideas on what you think and maybe we can all help each other! (I know these aren't exactly health-conscience but they're much better than fast food and pizza! I am working on getting more healthy as we go along! Healthy meal ideas would be much appreciated!)

M- baked bbq chicken, twice baked potatoes, cooked mixed veggies (no dessert because I have to go shopping:()
Tu- Italian sausage and peppers, french bread
W- baked penne pasta, garlic bread, salad
Th- hot colby ham sandwiches, chips, carrot & celery sticks with ranch and frosted orange cookies (have to make a treat for the ladies I visit teach!)
F- beef stew, rolls
Sa- out to football game
Su- banana nut waffles, hashbrowns, sausage, eggs
M- chicken surpreme with gravy, banana berry brownie pie
Tu- red hamburger enchiladas, spanish rice, refried beans
W- steak stir fry
Th- meatball subs, carrot & celery sticks with ranch
F- temple date night out to eat
Sa- potatoe soup, rolls

I got the mental part done of planning it and making the grocery list complete with marking the items I can price match. Now I just have to do the physical and tiring part of actually doing the shopping and putting away. Does anyone else hate grocery shopping?

I was planning on cleaning house today but I've been feeling under the weather. I was nauseous this morning but that went away thank heavens. But I still feel really tired and weak, and like I have a cold or allergies- really congested and burning eyes and a little bit of sore throat. Nothing too bad but I don't want to make it worse by over-extending myself. And I'm good since I got my laundry done on Saturday. I think I'll switch my cleaning days to Wednesdays or Saturdays when I'm not baby-sitting. We'll see how I feel about it tomorrow.

I think that Bubba has probably doubled in size this past week or two. I feel huge! Not only that but I feel him moving constantly. It can get a little uncomfortable at times because I'm so short and there's not much room in there but for the most part I love feeling him move all the time. It creates such a wonderful bond. I really think he's going to be a big baby... well bigger than Baily has been at least!
I have more to write about but I'm pretty tired so I don't think I'll be writing any more tonight. We still have FHE and scriptures and prayer and stuff so I'll have to write about that and other things tomorrow. Keep the comments coming or at least start making them come! Love you all!

That song, "Manic Monday" was written by Prince, but made famous by the Bangles. He had a crush on Susanna Hoff, the lead singer of the band, so he gave her that song to "woo" her. I just like to point out Prince stuff whenever it pops up. I don't think he gets enough credit because he's so eccentric. I enjoy your blog!
