The Calm AFTER the Storm

Today really felt like the calm after the storm. I love Halloween and all it's festive fun but man I'm sure glad it's over. Plus it was Thursday today which meant no Mya and I even got a break from watching Tyler. Sweet. I got to go to park day with a bunch of friends from the ward. They have it every Thursday usually but I don't ever get to go since I'm always baby-sitting some other kid. So I hitched a ride with my friend Malissa. We made a quick stop at McDonald's (their french fries really hit the spot on my salt craving) and headed to the park. Baily had a blast as she always does at the park but the poor girl was soaked in sweat. Hello?!... it was November 1st today for cryin' out loud. I'm ready for some nice, cool crisp weather. I enjoyed visiting with my friends and am glad I got the chance to go and that Baily had so much fun. My visiting teacher came by today and it was nice chatting with her. She's so much fun and has such a strong, sweet spirit so it's always nice when I get a visit from her. I got to make some yummy, comforting homemade macaroni and cheese for a lady in our ward who just had knee replacement surgery. She's the ward canning specialist so the few times I've gone to the cannery I've always gone with her and she is so sweet. I just love her to death. I've heard this kind of surgery is one of the most painful surgeries anyone can have but you would never know that by seeing her. She had such a big smile on her face and was just as sweet as could be. I love being in a ward surrounded by such wonderful people. Besides cleaning up the disaster of my house after all the Halloween craziness I really didn't get much of anything productive done but oh well. I'm almost done with my book and am having a hard time putting it down. I'm sure I'll be done with it tonight or tomorrow. It's a catch 22 with good books like these. I enjoy them but they're total time suckers! Maybe I should just not do anything for a couple of days and finish these last 2 books and be done with it. Good night!
