Super Duper!

So today was really a super duper day. I have no complaints. This morning was nice and relaxed with just me and my Baily Bug. We slept in a little later than usual, took our time eating breakfast and getting ready for the day and just hung out. It was nice. Then we got to go out to lunch with my VT partner and one of the sisters we Visit Teach. We've never done this before and it was so fun. We went to this fabulous Chinese restaraunt called The China Palace. It was so good and very nicely priced. The service was great and we had a great time just chatting away without any time constraints to worry about. Baily did great which always makes it nice and the 2 new foster kids my friend just got were really great as well. I look forward to doing this again. Good times!!

After we got home it was nap time. After I got Baily down I started to work on some things I needed to get done but I decided to take a nap myself. I was really, really tired for some reason. As soon as I woke up I got ready and right after Robert got home from work I went to my job interview for the 911 Operator position. I was a little nervous at first but after waiting for a little bit (they were running a little behind), I felt fine going in. I was interviewed by two women that seemed pretty friendly. A couple of the questions caught me off guard but all in all I think I did pretty well. I will find out next week by mail how I did and where to go from here. I do know that it is a very long and extensive process if I do go on from here. So more on this subject next week! I'm glad it's done and over with though and I don't have to worry about it for now.

Another great thing about today is I got good stuff in the mail. I love when I get good stuff in the mail. I got my October issue of Family Fun and they have the cutest ideas for Halloween and Fall. I'll defnitely be using some of them. And I didn't get this today but wanted to mention it- the Kraft Food & Family magazine. It's totally free and has the best, easy ideas for recipes. Go to http://kraftfoods.com/kf to sign up. It's great! Anyway I also got a card from my brother Alex that was so sweet. I love him so much and his card meant so much to me. He also sent a cute card for Baily. Alex is so awesome and I'm so grateful he's not only my brother but one of my very best friends! I also got a package from my mom that my Aunt Konny sent. My mom started making these cute little bears called "Kerri Bears" for Baily and my little siblings Zach and Kenzie. She hasn't been able to send them for the last couple of months so this time there were quite a few. Baily was so excited to get her "Kerri Bears" from her Grandma Kerri. My mom taught herself to crochet while she's been in prison and she is amazing. I've never been a big fan of crochet stuff but these are so cute and she also does amazing other things with crochet. She's always been so talented and creative. The first picture is the bears she's made for Baily. I don't know if you can see the detail but it's amazing. The picture on the right is the bear she called "Bearliza R. Snow" and it's a pioneer bear carrying a handcart with a little baby and some sticks in it. It's my favorite one. The rest of them are Zack and Mackenzie's bears. If it's too small click on the picture so you can see a bigger image to see all the detail. The close-up is a bear in a hammock between a cactus and tree. She's made them all into different characters and adds cute little tags to make them her own- kind of like her own version of Beanie Babies. Aren't they so awesome? I love my mom so much. Even when she can't be here personally she does so much to be a big part of our lives and let us know how special we are to her.

And here's something else I'm sooo excited about. We had our Enrichment meeting tonight and it was on emergency preparedness. Our ward's really been hitting us hard with this subject and we've had lots of informing activities to motivate and give helpful hints which I've loved. However, I have to admit that although I've seen the importance of having emergency preparation I've still been so overwhelmed by it. It's very stressful to think of storing food and essential items for my family for a whole year. I haven't even known where to start. I did finally start ordering essentials from the cannery which is some sort of relief but I've always wondered what I'd do with all the wheat I've ordered. Tonight we had a guest speaker/specialist named Wendy Dewitt talk to us. She was AMAZING!! She has this incredible system that makes this whole idea of a 1 year supply real and something I can see myself doing. In every aspect of my life I like a plan laid out, something I feel is the best and true and works. For instance, I know I belong to the true Church. When it comes to fitness, even though I haven't lived it, I know the best system for me is Body-for-LIFE and I believe 100% it's the best and it just makes sense to me. Well Wendy's system is now my perfect plan for food storage. I honestly feel like it's the best one for me and I can do this. I've never been excited about food storage and canning but after tonight I'm so pumped about it. Let me know if any of you want details. I got the booklet which has her plan laid out with great ideas, recipes and sources to get the things needed to carry this plan out. Afterward I was chatting with the girls and we decided to have a canning party, now that we know what to can and how. It would be so much fun to be able to chat and play games while canning and doing something productive with friends rather than doing it by yourself and it being so tedious. So I'm excited for that. I would say this was definitely a super duper Enrichment meeting. Baily for some reason didn't want to go in the nursery for the first 20 minutes but after she did she had a blast. She made a fruit loop necklace and was so proud of it. She was also excited to have her own big girl cup and ice.

The only thing that wasn't so super duper about today was nap time and night-night time for Baily. I know her molars are coming in because I felt them and I know she's miserable. She was fine throughout the day but when it was time to put her to sleep she screamed and had major tantrums. Poor baby! I hope she feels better soon. It's so rough when she has fits like that! Here's hoping tomorrow's another super duper day!

Those bears are amazeing Sarah! That is so nice that she does that for you. I'm crocheting a blanket but it's not turning out that great. Hahaha! I can't imagine the effort put into those bears! Wow! I would be interested in the canning method as long as it's easy! Hahahaha! My patience is short sometimes. Well I'm glad you had a good day! Love ya!

Enrichment Nights about food storage is always enlightening. I've got a list of food storage on $5 a week. It is a great list b/c it helps you see that food storage for your family is attainable if you don't have a lot of funds and if you don't feel that it is attainable. let me know if you want it and i'll get it to you.
your mom is pretty talented. i'm so glad that she has something productive to do...and her grandkids will love those bears FOREVER.
You sure are a trooper...good luck on that 911 operator thing, i'll be checking back to see how its going. it takes a certain type of person to be able to handle those calls. Snaps to you!

I'm glad you got my card. When Mom called me in a daze, I wanted to send something out to everyone I loved and didn't talk to very often and who lived far away. Love you sis!
