A New Day!

It has been a great day today! I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father for me in abundance. I'm so grateful for the Sabbath Day and the Spirit it brings to me and to our home. I'm so grateful for the Atonement and repentance and the opportunity to take the Sacrament each week to renew covenants and be given a new chance to do better. I have felt like it's been such a new day full of promise, virtue, hope and love!

I was able to get some things taken care of this morning that lifted a huge burden off my shoulders. It's nice to have help available if needed. Baily was pretty excited to go to church today and I thought she looked so adorable and precious for church today. She wore one of her new dresses she got for her birthday and was so proud of her pretty new hair. I know I'm her mom and biased (sp?) but isn't she so sweet? I love her so much!

Church was great and the Spirit was so strong all throughout Sacrament, Relief Society and Sunday School. I love Sundays like that at church. After church we came home and got right to work on making our breakfast for dinner Sunday tradition. I went Visiting Teaching tonight and I had my first appointment at 6 and since we don't get out until 4 we had to get hopping as soon as we got home. I think this may be the best breakfast dinner so far. We had crepes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, hash browns and bacon. Robert and Andre also had eggs. Robert helped by making the hash browns and bacon. It was soooo good. I've always loved crepes but for some reason have been intimidated to make them and never have. Well I faced my fears tonight and I must say I did a smashing job! They were just as good or maybe even better than the ones I've had at IHOP or Village Inn. Yummy! I love this tradition!

After church it was Visiting Teaching. I love my sisters and partner so much. We were gone for abou 2 1/2 hours for 2 sisters we visited. It's always so nice to visit and have that social interaction I crave. I always feel so renewed and uplifted and spiritually motivated. I was in charge of giving the message and when I found out what it was I was a little disappointed because I don't think I've ever really grasped the concept. After reading it though I loved it. Here's my favorite quote I got from it:
“Become an Instrument in the Hands of God by Being of One Heart and One Mind,” Ensign, Sep 2007, 69

Elder Neal A. Maxwell (1926–2004) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: “Spiritual submissiveness means … community and communion as the mind and the heart become settled. We then spend much less time deciding, and much more time serving. … Yielding one’s heart to God signals the last stage in our spiritual development. Only then are we beginning to be fully useful to God! How can we sincerely pray to be an instrument in His hands if the instrument seeks to do the instructing?” (“Willing to Submit,” Ensign, May 1985, 71).

I love Elder Maxwell's teachings! Anyway we had a great visit and by the time I got home Baily was pretty much out so it's been pretty relaxing. I love Sundays like this!
And oh yeah- I got another calling today. The ward 1st Counselor came up to me about 2 minutes before church and asked me if I would serve on the Activities Committee. I said yes and was sustained during church. I'm also on the Enrichment Committee but don't feel like I do enough so I'm excited at another opportunity to serve. It should be fun! I love ward activities!
