Let's try this again.

Wednesday October 1, 2008
So I'm attempting to get back to my daily blogging again but no promises. I've finally come to terms that having 2 kids really does take a lot more time than 1 (nice of me to come to terms with this when my baby's almost 10 months old!). But anyway, Wednesday was pretty uneventful which can be good. I started training with a new running partner and I'm pretty excited about that. We're about the same height so our stride is the same and we're both starting at the same level with common goals. She's awesome. We're not training for a social hour but to have someone to work on the same goals with as well as someone to be accountable to. Although I haven't trained the last 3 days but I'll get to that later. But yeah it was great having a running partner on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday I went to our first park day since summer started and left (it was still pretty toasty though). It was a little rough on me though since I had drank a ton of water and even though I went to the bathroom right before I walked to the park I had to go really bad about half-way there. I knew if I turned back Baily would have an all-out tantrum so I decided to try and stick it out. I was relieved that there were other moms and kids there this time. I tried to enjoy socializing but I had to go so bad it hurt. Well it usually hurts anyway because of all my UTI's lately. So I was so emabarrassed but I humbled myself and asked someone if they could please run me home so I could go to the bathroom. Thankfully someone was headed out and she ran me home while the other sisters watched my kiddos for me. I barely made it and it hurt so bad. From them on until like Saturday evening I was in so much pain with one of the worst UTI's I've ever had. Anyway, after I went back to the park Baily played a little longer and I was able to enjoy myself a little more in chit-chatting with my friends and a friend offered to bring us home instead of us having to walk (it was super hot by then and I was still in a lot of pain) so I was so thankful for that. The rest of the day was spent cleaning and doing daily things. Baily had fun playing cowgirl as you can see and kept shooting me. I was grateful though because I felt like being shot to be put out of my pain. And that's pretty much all I remember about Wednesday. Oh yeah, we had a really good shrimp dinner. Yum, yum! And here's a video of my boy doing one of his favorite things, throwing a ball. And I have to say- he's pretty darn good at it. Robert says he's gonna be a Quarterback some day. I say it's practice for good throw-ins for soccer. I guess we'll find out!

#275-Getting an awesome running partner!

Ahem... hi.

So that whole "fresh start" thing... uh yeah... that was just a joke. As you may have noticed I haven't exactly been a good little blogger. Here's how it goes:
Super Busy Month+Feeling Overwhelmed+Blogger Rut= Bad Blogger Sarah!
So sorry, again, and I'm gonna be a busy little blogger catching up for the next day or so. So watch for like 13 new posts. Why do I do this to myself?! Anyway... happy viewing and reading!

September Bailyisms

There were so many more that I didn't write down... (bad mom, I know!)
9.1 Robert and I were "discussing" who's turn it was for family prayer and after Robert said he wouldn't do it Baily said "do you need to go to timeout daddy?"
9.1 Robert and I were "discussing" who's turn it was for family prayer and after Robert said he wouldn't do it Baily said "do you need to go to timeout daddy?"
9.? She colored all over the wall and after I saw it and she could tell from my face how mad I was she said "I go straight to timeout mom" and proceeded to go straight to timeout for a while. When she finally came out she said "I so sorry mom. I won't do it again. I only color on paper. Don't be mad mom."
9.16 She wanted to play pretend and we were driving. All the sudden she opens her door (this is all done imaginary btw) acts like she swipes her card, puts in a number on the pin pad, puts the gas pump in the gas tank, gets all the trash from the car, cleans the windows, puts the gas pump back, closes the gas tank, opens the door, sits down and puts the receipt down. She buckles her seatbelt starts driving, rolls down her window, says "just a minute please" turns to me and says "babe, what do you want?" My mouth is wide open at this moment and I'm trying not to laugh. I tell her my order and she looks out the window and says "K, I'm ready. I want a #6 plain, with fresh (yes, fresh not french) fries, and a Pepper (I have no idea what she's talking about...) and a hamburger with no pickles and fresh fries and a Pepsi." She pulls up the "car" and grabs the food and puts the drinks in the cupholder, gives the person her card, opens a straw and puts it in her drink, takes a sip and says "mmmm...", gets her receipt, says "thank you, you too" (they must've said have a nice day), drives a way and says "mom want a fresh fry? Just a bite 'till we get home, k?", she drives home, gets out and then she's done playing pretend. Who says we go to the drive-thru too much?!

On my mind...

So here's some things that were or are on my mind during September and things that I want to "write" down so I don't forget them:
*Having UTI's constantly among other health problems for a month with no insurance STINKS!
*I LOVE the Cub Scout program. I got to go to a Little Philmont training which is like training from the Church's point of view and is more focused on Boy Scouts but it was so spiritually motivating and brought a realization to me of how important that Scouting program is for our boys.
*Since Baily has turned 3 she's been ROTTEN! There's been lots of tantrums, time spent in time-out, defiance, spanking and it's no fun at all. Gerald and Rachelle took her up to Show Low for 2 nights, Rachelle picked her up on a Friday and they dropped her off on a Sunday, and it was her first time away from us for so long. I was very hesitant to let her go because I was worried she would feel abandoned (Robert said I was being too dramatic but I really did worry about that) and that she would freak out at night-time when we weren't there. Well she did awesome and didn't have any tantrums or throw any fits and had a blast. I, on the other hand, missed her like crazy and shed a few tears but it was good for me because I definitely needed a break from the rotten-ness and when she came back I had gained a greater love and appreciation for her and a stronger determination to not yell or discipline her too harshly so much. It's good to know she will be ok without us for a few days too.
*I've finished up reading the May Ensign of General Conference talks, FINALLY, and I loved all of the talks. There really is such a difference in my life when I read these wonderful talks daily. I love and am so grateful to live in a time where the church is fully restored and we having a living Prophet and Apostles and General Authorities who we get to hear from at least twice a year.
*I'm so grateful for such an awesome ward who helps out so much, especially with giving me and my kids rides to church and other activities for my calling as well as helping with my kids at church. I'm so blessed to be in such a great ward!
*I loved, loved, loved the RS General Broadcast and it was the strongest I've felt the Spirit in a long time. I loved Pres. Uchtdorf's talk, especially the part about being able to create things of beauty all around us. The dinner beforehand and being able to socialize with friends from my ward without interruptions was so great as well!
*I've been so touched in reading the Nie Nie Dialougues and her sister's blog about their recovery and it's really made me think about enjoying my life all the time and stop worrying about the little things that don't matter and enjoy being a mom and my kids. It's also made me so grateful to have the gospel in my life.
*Eagle Eye was an awesome movie!
*Poor little Belle, used to be our dog and became the Dominguez family dog, passed away very unexpectedly and it was a very sad thing for the family. She will be missed!
*I LOVED Breaking Dawn! It was my favorite even though it was full of so many twists and turns that totally threw me off. I'm just so sad it's over. I totally think Stephenie Meyer could write more in the series, don't you?!
*I was worried about doing Sharing Time during September which my month and my first time since I got called to the Presidency but I LOVED it! I think they all went pretty well and the Spirit was so strong. I learned so much preparing for it and drew great strength from the Spirits of our sweet Primary kids. Sharing Time rocks!!
*I got to go to our ward's Sister Social Enrichment Activity which was just going to someone's house, eating good food and socializing and it was great. I love the feeling of ward sisterhood!
*There's so many tv shows I want to watch this season but am painfully giving (at least, trying) it up. I figure I'll just watch them when they come out on DVD. I'm talking about Heroes, Prison Break and Dancing With The Stars. However, I'm just giving up DWTS all together even though I really, really wanna watch because I just feel that it's not exactly giving me much spiritual enrichment. I'm still debating with this and other shows.
*I've never been involved with politics and I usually completely tune it out or shut my mind off whenever it's brought up buy my husband has gotten me into it lately with his listening to talk radio every time we're in the car. I'm still not sure about everything but I do know I like McCain better than Obama and I really like Palin. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've been pretty naive about our economy and it's struggles and when I learned more about it it really freaked me out and made me want to go out and get our year supply NOW! I wish I had the funds to support that desire! And I'm totally voting yes on 102!
*I LOVE the new kid's show on PBS called Sid the Science Kid. I even sometimes watch it when Baily's not here and is at Pre-School. He's so dang cute! (I'm looking for a friend, I'm looking for you... la la la...)
