I wish I had some pictures of my Grandma Holwick's art. I was named after her and her artwork is simply gorgeous! I have always loved her art!

Day 06 — A fun fact about me
I am half Tlingit Indian which is an Alaskan Indian Tribe based off of Sitka Alaska. I am of the Frog Clan which means I get along with all sorts of people- land and water creatures. I always loved frogs growing up (I even had a pet frog named Toni!) and was so excited to learn that I was of the Frog Clan. I have an ancestor who has a totem pole he made in the Smithsonian. I have never been to Alaska and am ashamed to say I don't know a whole lot about my tribe and my people's history but I will go there someday and plan on learning more about this great heritage. My dad has always taught me to be proud of my Native heritage and I truly am so proud of it! (I even beat up a kid in daycare for making fun of Indians and my dad was so proud!)Tuesday, March 01, 2011
