We
didn't really have anything planned yesterday so it was just sorta go with the flow. The kids had fun in the morning. Baily played with one of her new toys that she got from her birthday party. Then Bryan and Kenzie joined in and they all had fun playing house. Baily was actually being pretty nice and sharing which is a nice break from the way she's
been acting lately. After they ate (I made yummy pancakes) they got bored really fast. So we all went outside and they had a blast playing with the slip & slide. It was perfect weather for it- super hot. Matt came and picked Kenzie up around noonish so Bryan's day immediately had a dark cloud over it. Mackenzie and Bryan always have so much fun together! After that Robert, his mom Cande, Bryan, Baily and I all took a trip to Wally World. Cande let us have one of her extra tvs they're not using to put in Baily's room. She bought her a little DVD player and we used the birthday money Baily got from her to buy the cables and stuff she needed to make it all work. I was pretty hesitant about putting a tv in her room but we're hoping it will help her sleep in her own room- which it didn't last night by the way. After Wal-Mart we came home and after I put my baby down for a nap, we went to K-Mart to try to find the cables we needed but couldn't find them. We got some grub from Taco Bell (I havent' had this forever and it was sooo good), and headed home. Baily woke up and it wasn't in a very good mood. Robert left again in search for the right cables and ended up going to Radio Shack, Best Buy and back to a different Wal-Mart and finally found them.
Baily calmed down and got in a better mood thank heavens. She had fun playing in her bed (sure wish she'd sleep in it!),
checking out her new tv that didn't work yet, playing with her new toys and modeling for me with her new
flip flops she got for her birthday. And as you can see she didn't want to wear any pants or shorts after I changed her- and I didn't make her.
I do as much as I can or don't do as much to avoid the tantrums. It was nice to have sweet Baily back for a while. And this is a video because I think she's so cute. She's known her body parts pretty much since she was about 14 or 15 months but I thought she could show you herself.
After Robert got home we had a quick FHE, another one from the Friend.
We read "A Truckload of Saints." It was a cute story and we talked about how important it is to attend our meetings. We also made a re-commitment to try harder to keep the Sabbath Day holy, as in not going to the store or buying anything. These last two weeks have been weird though. Then we had leftover cake and ice cream for our treat.
Then Baily and Bryan played outside for a while- I can't wait until it finally starts to cool down so they can play out there without us dying of heat! After that Baily and Bryan tried out her new tv and watched "The Tigger Movie" and ate popcorn. So all in all not a whole lot happened yesterday but it was nice and relaxing. I hope the rest of the week will go as smoothly!
Today started off nice enough. Church changed to 1:oo today which is not my favorite but it was kind of nice to not have to rush to get ready. It's only 2 hours
later but it seemed like we
had all this extra time this morning. Baily woke up in a pretty good mood and had fun attempting to eat her daddy's huge sandwich. We watched Lion King and she pretty much acted out every scene which Robert and I got a kick out of. We had time to shower and get ready without rushing, and Baily was even able to take a short 30 minute nap before church. I thought we were set for a good day and a nice little birthday party. Ha ha!Church was good for the half I was there. I bore my testimony if Sacrament- I didn't want to but I couldn't not with the strong urge I felt and especially after such a crazy week. I would have felt ungrateful after the many blessings and tender mercies of love I have felt this past week with all it's ups and downs. Relief Society was good but I left early because Baily was wet and needed changed and then I had to go get ready for the party. After church she wasn't too bad. She tried out her Abuela's fruit
salad- you know, just to make sure it was ok. Then after I kept yelling at her for getting into everything while
I was trying to set up the party she went and played in her room. She seems like such a sweet, little angel in the picture. And isn't her party outfit so cute? Thanks Rachelle! Right before people started showing up for her party she turned into naughty Baily. She was so, so naughty. You'll notice in the pictures from the slide show that everyone's smiling and happy but her. I guess she's just showing us that she's ready for the terrible 2's. She takes the saying "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to" to heart. We had fun anyway. About more than half of the people I was planning on coming didn't come. I'm glad Matt brought Zach and Mackenzie. Zach and Matt left early though because Matt had some errands to run and Zach didn't want to stay at a baby party. We had a lot of extra food but I think we'll manage. It was fun... at least for all of us but Baily anyway. The pinata didn't work out as planned- even though it was expensive, it was cheap. It busted without even being busted open by anyone! But the kids didn't care- they got candy out of it and that's all that really matters. And she got lots of good presents so thanks everyone that showed up! Robert's off work tomorrow so that should be nice. Kenzie wanted to stay the night which is always great. Her and Bryan had fun tonight despite the fact that I was dealing with the monstrous Baily and was very grouchy. I feel so bad when I get grouchy like that but my nerves have been stretched to the limit. Even though she's terrible I do love my little girl so much and am glad we got to do this party for her! I have such another busy week coming up- it's nice though to start it off with a holiday. Hopefully it won't be as hectic as this last week!
Yesterday was ca-razy. Talk about an emotional roller coaster and it's not even because of my hormones this time. So the day started off fine enough. I knew it would be a little crazy because Fridays usually are since I have 3 little ones to tend to. And my brother, Grandma and Aunt were all coming down from Show Low this weekend for Baily's birthday party so I knew I would be doing a lot of cleaning. I purposely waited to do it yesterday so that it would be nice and fresh
and clean when they came this weekend. I wasn't able to do much cleaning in the morning because none of the babies wanted to sleep that much and wanted to be fed at the same time and were pretty fussy. I got them changed and fed and happy for the most part. Then after I conquered the feat of getting them all to nap I turned my on switch on and started crazy cleaning. We're talking, Grandma the neat freak with the perfectly cleaned house is coming and I need to have my house spick and span, cleaning. In between every crevice, every appliance and speck of dirt removed cleaning. Cande was also home by then so we were happily cleaning. Then Baily woke up and chaos started.
I thought she was in a bad mood Thursday. Oh no... she was horrible yesterday. She's started getting a rash a couple of days ago that's getting worse so I think that may have been bothering her. But there was nothing I could do to make her happy. I mean she was hungry but didn't want to eat, thirsty but didn't want to drink, wanted to be held but wanted down. It was miserable. Then Mya woke up and was hungry and pretty fussy so I was trying to feed her while dealing with Baily. I was doing ok though stress wise. Then I got a call that made my adrenaline go up to full blast. My brother Alex was on his was down from Show Low and when he called I didn't even recognize his voice.
He told me that he had just been in an accident. He said he was ok but I knew he was in major shock because he was so hard to understand and wasn't making much sense. I told him I'd call him back and I immediately prayed my heart out.
I called Robert and he was able to get off work early. Alex was about 2 miles out of Payson and somehow his car flipped and rolled all the way down a hill. I know it's a miracle that he's alive and nothing bad happened. I told Alex when he called to tell me he was on his way to make sure and say a prayer before he left and I'm so grateful he did. While I was trying to deal with all this Mya and Baily were being so naughty. By then my stress level was out of control and being so frustrated I knelt and prayed and lost it. I told Heavenly Father I knew he wouldn't give me anything I couldn't handle and that I couldn't handle all this by myself- that I needed help and strength. As soon as I finished praying everything seemed to calm down and work out fine. Robert's aunt picked up Mya early for me, Cande helped with Baily and Gerald and Rachelle went to go get Alex so Robert was able to come home and we were able to make it to his Uncle's viewing on time. And more than anything I was so grateful that Alex is ok. I love him so much and am just so grateful he's ok. Alex ended up going back with Gerald and Rachelle to Show Low. I was bummed because I was so excited to hang out with him and have some quality time with him. And my Grandma and Aunt decided to stay home with him and not come down this weekend to keep an eye on him which is also a bummer since I won't have any of my own family at Baily's birthday party. But in the big picture I have nothing to worry about and am really just so grateful Alex is ok and everyone's fine. And I'm sure Baily's birthday party will be great tomorrow. And my cousin is coming tomorrow so at least I will have someone from my family there. She's awesome. After th
e viewing Robert and I went to Wendy's to eat. Obviously I wasn't able to make dinner with everything that was going on so we got to eat out. I haven't had fast food in about a week so it was really good and a little bit comforting. Baily was doing much better and she was excited to have french fries after so long. After that we came home and I was still kind of bummed so we went and
rented some movies. We had 2 coupons for Blockbuster for free rentals, the older movies.
We picked out 2 for Baily and picked out on the Indiana Jones for us. I've never seen them before-
crazy I know. Well after we checked out I noticed this big sign on the counter that said something like we promise if we don't bring up the Rewards program you get a free movie. When I saw it Robert
looked at me and shook his head because he knew I was going to call them on it- and I did. The guy that checked us out ended up having to give us a free movie rental and I could tell he was pretty ticked off at me. Robert says I'm so mean but hey if I can get a free movie I'm gonna take it. They shouldn't have that up there if they don't want to own up to it!
The guy was mad but me and Robert got a good laugh out of it and were excited to get 4 movies for the price of 1. Go us! So we came home, popped some popcorn, drank some soda and ate some candy and had a nice little movie night. Needless to say we didn't finish the movie- we passed out before it was over. I'm just grateful I have such a comforting husband and that my brother's alive. What a day, what a day!
